Winter Rebus Story Freebie

I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year! For those who went back to school today, I'm so sorry! I definitely need a few more days to do, well, nothing, really.

One of my greatest accomplishments this vacation was to finish up my Grammar Review Sheets for First Grade.

Slide2Slide3

There are 30 review sheets included and they cover the language common core standards. The review sheets cover the same information each week, however, as the weeks go on, they increase in difficulty, with the words and sentences becoming more challenging to read. The children are able to master the concepts because they are exposed to them every single week. The sheets are filled with countless high frequency words, consonant digraphs, inflectional endings, and irregularly spelled words. They can be used in whole groups, small groups, as assessments, or for homework. They really help me know who may need additional help with a specific skill. If you click on the image below and download the preview, you will see how Lesson 20 is much more difficult than Lesson 1.

In other news, I made you all a little freebie to enjoy if you do a winter unit. It's a Winter Rebus Story. Just click on the image below to grab your copy. If you download it, please let me know if you like it. Thanks!

This product was made using one of my newest favorite fonts. It's called Hello Lori and it was made by my blogging buddy Jennifer Jones, from Hello Literacy. Among her many other talents, Jennifer makes the cutest fonts. Imagine my surprise when she told me she made one named after me! I was thrilled beyond belief and I quickly went to work to make something using Hello Lori. You can click her button below to find out how you can get her beautiful fonts, too!

This product was also made using frames from another truly talented artist. Annie Moffatt, from The Moffatt Girls, who I adore, discovered quite recently that she excels at, yet another thing! In addition to creating beautiful units, she also created all of the frames I used in this packet. You can check them out, as well as, all of her other beautiful frames by clicking on her button below. Yes, I have them all!

So, there you have it! A freebie for you, made with love from me, made with a font and frames from those who I love! Thanks, Jennifer and Annie!
