This is an amazingly fun and useful tool for any classroom. Learning Resources has given me one to review and I am very excited to share my findings with you.

And, this is actually what it looks like.

It's the perfect size for little hands and is incredibly easy to use. All you have to do to record yourself, is push the red "record" button. To play back what you've recorded, you just push the green "play" button. Even our youngest students will be successful. I especially love that it is wireless and does not require batteries. You just connect it to your computer's USB to charge it back up. It gives you 4 hours of audio before it needs to be charged. 

I tried it out on some of my students who are in summer camp and they all loved it. You should have seen the smiles on their faces when they played themselves back. I had them each read a whole story and then I played it back for everyone to hear. Even the really shy children were excited to use it. I can only imagine what this will do for the self esteem of our most reluctant readers!

As a writing teacher, I will have my young authors read their finished pieces into the microphone. Then, I will play it back for the class to hear. I will also use it for teacher conferences, storytelling, assessments, and more.
